HARVEST FLOWER FESTIVAL

Look at the beautiful flower displays in St Leonard's Church for the annual Flower Festival. This year the theme was Saints and Hero's. Thank you to our creative Councillor Jenny Roberts for the Parish Council display - which was to honour our hero's - the listeners and code breakers from Sandridge Y Station on Woodcock Hill. The listeners intercepted messages during WW2 which were then taken, by motorbike, to the X Station - Bletchley Park, to be decoded. The messages came from all over, Italy, Germany and occupied Europe. This was all done from the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory on Woodcock Hill..... Read More...
