Sandridge Family Fun Run & 10k Challenge

Heartwood Forest, Sandridge

12 Sep 20 - 15:30

Save the date for the first Sandridge 10K and Family Fun Run, which will take place on 12th September 2020 in the beautiful Heartwood Forest.
The Family Fun Run at 3.30pm will be followed by the 10k at 4.15pm - a completely off road trail through the forest. This will culminate in a food and drink festival full of local suppliers.
The inaugural event is being organised by Sandridge 10k Committee in co-operation with the Woodland Trust, which owns Heartwood, and with the support of local businesses to raise funds for Sandridge School.
Heartwood Forest has over 800 acres of ancient woodland, wildflower meadows, orchard and new forests. Since 2009, a total of 600,000 trees have been planted by volunteers (mostly locals, but a few Royals included!). Local school children have been instrumental in planting the 600 tree orchard.
Registrations will open at the beginning of the New Year with a website, posters and much more. If you wish to be informed when registrations open, do get in touch, email
Sandridge 10K is committed to eliminating the carbon footprint of the event as much as possible, using recycled paper for all printing. Instead of plastic cups, there will be water pods that are fully edible at water stations around the trail, and re-usable cups will be used at the food and drink festival afterwards. In keeping with our woodland theme, there will be wooden medals for all participants.
We are inviting local businesses to sponsor and support the event in any way they can. If you believe you can contribute with local food or drink for the festival or support the event in any other way, do get in touch.
